Ukraine hasn't "fought the Russians to a standstill."
Truth is, and always was, that Russia has no interest in taking or holding any more territory than is necessary to secure the safety and tranquility of the Russian speaking population in the Donbas and in Crimea. Russia's "standstill" is not because they can't advance but rather because they don't have any interest in advancing except in certain places.
Their interest is to create a very defensible line, and then defend it in a manner that is extremely frugal for themselves but very costly for the west.
Moscow is all in and so should ALL of NATO be.
Russia needs to just admit they can’t defeat the Ukrainians and go home instead of constantly humiliating themselves. Russia has a brutal massive army but all they are capable of doing is killing civilians and rag-tag militia’s in the 3rd world.
Russian leaders keep “falling” out of high buildings these days. Things are not going well for Putin.
